Brothers Alexander and Eduard Sonderegger have been performing together for over 20 years as the SONDEREGGER DUO. Both musicians followed family tradition, devoting themselves to chamber music for violin and piano from an early age. In 2014 Alexander and Eduard became laureates of the Carl Wendling competition for chamber music in Stuttgart.

The repertoire of the SONDEREGGER DUO covers works from early classics to 20th and 21st century contemporary music. In 2019, supported by Gert Volker Dill foundation, the Duo released its first CD with works by Brahms, Szymanowski and Enesco. The same year, SONDEREGGER DUO signed an exclusive contract with the concert agency Massa Konzertmanagement.

The SONDEREGGER DUO´s major performances include Mendelssohn-Bartohldy´s Double Concerto with the Sinfonietta Lentua Orchestra at Lentua-Hall, Kuhmo, Finnland and a chamber music concert at Maison Heinrich Heine in Paris, as well as a number of performances with the Murmansk Philharmonic Orchestra in Russia. In 2016 and 2018 the SONDEREGGER DUO has also participated in the `Rising Stars!´ Festival.

Alexander and Eduard Sonderegger received their artist concert diploma with distinction after their tenure at the State University of Music and Performing Arts in Stuttgart. Many eminent musicians have consulted chamber music duo Alexander and Eduard, including Anke Dill, Gerhard Schulz, Christine Busch, Stefan Fehlandt, Péter Nagy, Shoshana Rudiakov, Florian Wiek, Claudio Bohorquez, Conradin Brotbek, Ralf Gothóni and Kirill Gerstein.

Apart from holding the position of a principal violinist at the Ulm Theatre Orchestra (Germany) the violinist Eduard Sonderegger performs regularly as a soloist. The pianist Alexander Sonderegger holds a position as a piano teacher at the State University of Music and Performing Arts in Stuttgart and is a recipient of numerous prizes from the competition in France, Spain, Italy, Czech Republic, Germany, and the USA.

Thanks to the support of the Helga Drews foundation, the SONDEREGGER DUO will make its debut appearance at the Gasteig in Munich in June 2020.
